MATTEO'S STORY
Born: September 24, 2013
God blessed us with Matteo's birth on September 24, 2013. Matteo went to his heavenly home, at age 5,on Sunday, September 15th, 2019 and is immersed in God's loving care surrounded by love, light, happiness and peace.

Our sweet Matteo shined a light so bright throughout our lives and we miss Matteo's physical self so very much. He had a tragic accident in our home, but that is not how he will be remembered. We, Kelly & Claudia Coffey, sister Mya (14), brother Michael (12), and brother Kingston (9) will remember Matteo in the following loving ways:

Matteo has a passion about life, which brings endless happiness to those who know him. Matteo admired his siblings, which was reflected in his taste in games, music and sports. He brought renewing love to his parent during times of struggle and he unconditionally loved his friends deeply and had compassion for the human condition for a child evident in his thoughts to include others in play time. He had a knack to capture the humor and compassion in life he observed. He is a funny sweet boy, absorbing anything humorous and would pass that humor along to the next person for a smile or a giggle.

Matteo loves the water, swimming hours longer then all the kids at parties and would eagerly jump into cold oceans or winter Tahoe lake water just to be in water. He preferred to swim au natural and would spend countless hours in the pool and hot tub exploring shipwrecks, making pretend soup and swimming like a fish.

Matteo loves pop music and is a budding musician and performer. He plays piano, drums, harmonica and more. Refining his own style on his own in the backyard for hours playing various instruments along with Alexa while singing and dancing. His favorite song lyrics are "Count on Me", "If We Have Each Other", "High Hopes", "7 Years", "HandClap", "On Top of the World”, and more.
His favorite color is rainbow and Hawaii is his favorite place to visit. He perfected the “Dab” for every family photo and loves all animals. He has a wonderful imagination when playing with trains, cars, Legos, rocks and sticks in the backyard. Matteo loved playdates with his school friends, playing T-Ball, playing soccer, Minecraft, watching Youtube and his favorite show is True and the Rainbow Kingdom. His favorite meal is Negihama, Miso Soup, Rice and Ramune Soda. Matteo’s first nicknamed was “Baby Thor”.
Matteo is also survived by his grandparents Benito and Maria De La Riva and nana Mary Coffey, his uncles Kevin, Sean, Benny and Jon' Paul, his aunts Monick and Minhlan, cousins Penelope, Camilla, and Layla and his beloved cat-dog Crash.
Matteo regularly taught us how to be a better version of ourselves.
